1)      Eating healthy: - Start eating healthy. Include lots of green vegetables and fruits in your diet.

5)      Use waterproof make up: - Use waterproof make up at all times. You don’t want mascara running down the face if you sweat.

6)      Remove makeup before sleep: – Always remove your make up before going to bed as traces of make up make the skin look tired and aged.

7)       Use homemade Packs: - Avoid using chemicals on your face and use home made packs instead. Using fresh ingredients like turmeric and yogurt can work wonders for your skin.

8)      Stick to the basics: – Don’t experiment too much. Two months before the big day, stick to only those face packs and facials that you know suit you.

9)      Say no to chemical treatments: – Avoid getting any chemical treatments on your skin for you never know what their side effects will be.

10)  Do a trial: – Try on your make up at least two weeks before your wedding day to make sure that it complements you and you can keep it on for that long.

11)  Get plenty of sleep: – Get at least eight hours of sleep everyday and try not to stress too much about how you will look.

The Delhi couture week that concluded late on July 25, 2011 was a resounding success. It was one of the best fashion weeks in a long time said buyers and customers alike. It had everything- the glitz and glamour of Bollywood, exquisite designs, an enthusiastic and appreciative audience and most importantly- interested buyers.

The embroidery line

The fashion week concluded with a Rohit Bal showing and as usual his designs were breathtaking. The embroidery, the fabrics and the silhouettes were all amazing and got a very good response from everyone watching the show.

Old world glamour

Manish Malhotra’s entire line was bought by designer boutique karma. His line was all about old world glamour, with hot hairstyles and the signature smoky eyes and nude lips. Signature patterns, signature colors and beautiful embroidery- this was the king of Bollywood at his best. Buyers predict the line moving like hot cakes off the racks. Sonam Kapoor opening the designer’s show was an added bonus.

Exquisite designs

Besides, the man who changed the way heroines dress in Indian cinema, Delhi fashion week saw other veteran designers like JJ Vallya, Anju Modi, Aashima Leena, Shantanu Nikhil and others. All of them showcased clothes worth dying for. Whether you are understated and sober or blingy and in your face- there were exquisite designs for everyone’s taste. It was a gala time for buyers as well. They haven’t had such a successful showing for quite some time.

The newbie

Varun Bahl’s clothes were taken by Ogaan, Aza and Ensemble. Evoluzione- the new designer store bought the outfits of most designers and even a couple of buyers form the states left with quite a few outfits.

Soft collection

Ashima and Leena’s collection called Adaa had many Bollywood biggies and socialites walking the ramp and in the front row. Their collection was sold five times over. Shantanu and Nikhil showcased a beautiful collection in soft colors like ice blue, coral and yellow. Their garments were beautiful, well crafted and very rich- ideal for a bride.

Lehengas and Kurtas

Anju Modi’s show consisted of mostly lehengas and kurtas with a couple of interesting jackets. Debutante Sharddha Kapoor walked the ramp as the show stopper. Manav Gangwani’s collection was over the top, blingy and all in all very Bollywood with some new silhouettes. Lots of celebrities showed an interest in his clothes.
